The characterisation of diesel cavitating flow using time-resolved light scattering
A conventional six-hole valve-covered orifice (VCO) injector nozzle has been modified in order to provide optical access to the region below the needle, and the nozzle passages. This has been achieved through the removal of the metal tip, and its replacement with a transparent acrylic tip of identical geometry.
Elastic scattering of light obtained from the internal cavitating flow inside the nozzle holes of the optically accessible diesel injector tip was captured on a high speed electronic camera. The optical image data was obtained from a nozzle with a common rail pressure of 400 bar, and for two diesel fuels, in order to identify differences in cavitation behaviour.
A set of 100 mean diesel fuel injection images were obtained from 30 fuel injection pulses, for each operating condition. The imaged mean cavitation occurring in the nozzle holes was converted to the mean proportion of nozzle hole area producing cavitation scattering. The mean cavitation area images were then analysed, and were able to demonstrate the inverse relationship between fuel mass injected and the relative area producing cavitation scattering
Problems and Prospects of Tourism Industry in Gujarat
Tourism has emerged as a dominant economic factor in India and in international horizon. With its economic and all other advantages, tourism can certainly play a determining role in the development of poorer economies which suffer from an adverse balance of payment situation, a high degree of social backwardness, besides the other environmental problems. However, to achieve success in tourism, India needs to adopt planning and management approach on scientific lines. Fortunately, tourism planning and development is now increasingly attending the attention of researchers from different disciplines ranging from geography, history, sociology, economics, commerce management and environmental sciences. Since each state in the country represents its own geo-socio-cultural identity, it therefore, demands specific tourism development plans and action thought within umbrella of an overall tourism prospective for the country. Being a resident of Gujarat research project related to the state naturally came as an obvious choice, of researcher. Arithmetic on a Distributed-Memory Quantum Multicomputer
We evaluate the performance of quantum arithmetic algorithms run on a
distributed quantum computer (a quantum multicomputer). We vary the node
capacity and I/O capabilities, and the network topology. The tradeoff of
choosing between gates executed remotely, through ``teleported gates'' on
entangled pairs of qubits (telegate), versus exchanging the relevant qubits via
quantum teleportation, then executing the algorithm using local gates
(teledata), is examined. We show that the teledata approach performs better,
and that carry-ripple adders perform well when the teleportation block is
decomposed so that the key quantum operations can be parallelized. A node size
of only a few logical qubits performs adequately provided that the nodes have
two transceiver qubits. A linear network topology performs acceptably for a
broad range of system sizes and performance parameters. We therefore recommend
pursuing small, high-I/O bandwidth nodes and a simple network. Such a machine

The characterisation of diesel nozzle flow using high speed imaging of elastic light scattering
Two identical, conventional six-hole, valve-covered orifice (VCO) diesel injectors have been modified in order to provide optical access to the region below the needle, and the nozzle-flow passages. This has been achieved through the removal of the metal tips, and their replacement with transparent acrylic tips of identical geometry.
These two identical injectors were employed in order to offer comparability between the measurements. One of them had a dark, anodised inner surface at the base, while the other had a silvered inner surface at the base. Elastic scattering of incident white light from the internal cavitating flow inside the nozzle holes of the optically accessible diesel injector tips was captured on a high-speed electronic camera. The optical image data was obtained for three injector rail pressures ranging from 200 bar to 400 bar, and for five diesel fuels of varying density, viscosity, and distillation profile, in order to identify variations in cavitation flow behaviour inside the nozzle hole passages.
A set of mean time-resolved diesel fuel flow images were obtained from 30 successive fuel injection pulses, for each operating condition, for each injector. The mean cavitation image occurring in the nozzle holes was converted to the mean proportion of nozzle hole area producing cavitation-induced optical scattering. The mean normalised area images were then analysed, and were able to demonstrate the anticipated inverse relationship between injected fuel mass and cavitation volume fraction (indicated by mean normalised area), and the effect of fuel viscosity and distillation profile on cavitation volume fraction (again indicated by mean normalised area)

Health profile of adolescent girls visiting obstetrics and gynecology department of tertiary care hospital
Background: Gynecological problems of adolescents occupy a special space in the spectrum of gynecological disorders of all ages. In this study, an attempt has been made to review the health profile of adolescent girls visiting department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of a tertiary care hospital.Methods: This observational study was conducted at a tertiary care teaching hospital during June 2014 to May 2016. Data was collected after due permission.Results: Adolescent girls having gynecological problems were 2.3%. Mean age of menarche was 12.5 years. Anemia was present in 89(62.7%). About 72(50.7%) adolescent girls were having abnormal body mass index (BMI). Majority of girls 136(95.8%) had menstrual problems. Leucorrhoea, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), ovarian mass, urinary problems, breast problems, injury to genital tract and sexual assault were present in 42(29.6%), 24(16.9%), 20(14.1%), 13(9.2%), 12(8.5%), 4(2.8%) and 1(0.7%) respectively.Conclusions: A very small proportion of adolescent girls came to the hospital for health-related issues. Anemia was present in more than half of adolescent girls and almost half of adolescent girls were having abnormal BMI. Majority of adolescent girls had menstrual problems. Health education regarding normal physiology, various gynecological problems, importance of nutrition and exercise for adolescents is necessary
Farmakokinetika ceftriaksona u teladi
The pharmacokinetics of ceftriaxone was determined after a single intravenous and intramuscular administration at the dose rate of 10 mg/kg in crossbred cow calves. The drug concentration in plasma was quantified through High Performance Liquid Chromatography with UV detection. Following intravenous administration the drug was rapidly distributed (t1/2α: 0.13 ± 0.01 h; Vd(area); 0.44 ± 0.07 L/kg) and eliminated (t1/2β: 1.58 ± 0.06 h) from the body with a clearance rate of 3.15 ± 0.41 mL/min/kg. Following intramuscular administration, the peak plasma drug concentration (Cmax) was 15.34 ± 2.39 μg/mL at 0.25 hours (Tmax) suggesting very rapid absorption. The drug was extensively distributed (Vd(area): 1.16 ± 0.15 L/kg) and slowly eliminated (t1/2β: 5.02 ± 0.51 hours; Cl(B): 2.71 ± 0.29 mL/min/kg) following intramuscular administration. The absolute bioavailability of ceftriaxone was 47.0 ± 5.0% following intramuscular injection. However, it can be used at a dosage of 10 mg/kg intramuscularly, repeated at twelve-hourly intervals, for the treatment of susceptible bacteria infections in calves.Farmakokinetika ceftriaksona određivana je u križane teladi nakon njegove jednokratne intravenske i intramuskularne primjene u dozi od 10 mg/kg. Koncentracija lijeka u plazmi određivana je tekućinskom kromatografifi jom visokog učinka s UV zrakama. Raspodjela lijeka bila je brza nakon intravenske primjene (t1/2α: 0,13 ± 0,01 h; Vd(area): 0,44 ± 0,07 L/kg), a izlučivanje (t1/2β: 1,58 ± 0,06 h) iz tijela s klirensom od 3,15 ± 0,41
mL/min/kg. Nakon intramuskularne primjene vršna koncentracija u plazmi iznosila je (Cmax) 15,34 ± 2,39 μg/mL tijekom 0,25 sati (Tmax) što upućuje na vrlo brzu apsorpciju. Raspodjela lijeka bila je izrazito dobra (Vd(area) 1,16 ± 0,15 L/kg), a izlučivanje sporo (t1/2β: 5,02 ± 0,51 sati; Cl(B): 2,71 ± 0,29 mL/min/kg) nakon intramuskularne primjene. Apsolutna biološka raspoloživost nakon intramuskularne primjene ceftriaksona iznosila je 47,0 ± 5,0%. Međutim, on se može rabiti u dozi od 10 mg/kg i.m. te ponavljati u razmacima od 12 sati radi liječenja bakterijskih zaraza u teladi
